house longworth was With the party being poised for the attack against the boss, doing anything else in the real world could possibly backfire (as in.. what to do when your party of 3 is a day's march away in game time when it's time to go kill the boss?).. so what better way to pass the time than with a soothing game of 'Dungeons & Dragons'? Or any rpg-esque tabletop (might I suggest Bunkers & Badasses, anyone?). Lead your 3 into a tavern somewhere and introduce someone, whether it be the elderly man in the corner who looks like a cosplayer or the resident barkeep. If they're into RP, then just play via that; no need to complicate things by rolling for characters as your characters. For simplicity's sake, give them generic classes or races (one's they're familiar with) and maybe give them some abilities to use. Heck, if they beat the DM's 'quest' maybe they can get a small magic item as a reward in game. Nothing major (so as to not upset those that missed) but also something to reward their devotion and willingness to, well, play D&D while playing D&D.
