Call Me Stan | Conceived Notions: Constance | Stan the Soundtrack
In the streets, you have to work at being optimistic. Constance struggled with it plenty, but if she couldn't find one reason to be happy and smile each day then she failed herself. She made the world into a scavenger hunt where the prizes were little things like pumpkin seeds, bottle caps, a mostly untouched sandwich left behind on an outdoor table or finding a twenty dropped in a parking lot. The world around her was only shitty if she let it be. Bad things happened but every day could be a new day.
When she was eighteen, she found herself becoming a groupie for a heavy metal country band named Corkscrew. It was a week-long adventure that led her from Corpus Christi to San Antonio. She lingered on the Riverwalk, eating the leftovers of wasteful tourists and ending her unsuccessful nights at a karaoke bar. This is where she met her soon to be husband, a businessman from Russia who took his time getting to know her over the course of two months. He wormed his way under her skin and for the first time, she felt a connection with someone.
They married in a rush and shortly after he was bringing her home with him to Russia. Happy ever afters are only called such because the movie ends before the relationship ever begins, something Constance wasn't prepared for. The sweet man who had rescued her from the streets morphed into her warden, keeping her isolated and controlled. Arguments escalated with no means of diffusing. It took her years to break away from the abuse, smuggling herself into Chernarus in hopes of escaping the reach of her husband.
