"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted...If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job."
Jose Ortega y Gasset, Meditations on Hunting
Spanish philosopher & politician (1883 - 1955)
Colby and his two compatriots John and Bucky came to Chernarus in search of large game. He was the son of the President of Little 5-Points Hunting and Tackle before everything went to shit, which he enjoyed mostly because he got to take the new equipment out for test runs. The three loved long vacations and had taken trips around the country touring different fishing and hunting spots, catching, killing, and eating all sorts of exotic game. The three boys grew up featured in hunting magazines for their different kills but never posed in pictures with the corpses. Colby believed that posing with your prey showed them disrespect, so avoided most of the publicity, instead choosing to focus on the equipment and weapons he used and sold for the company. While running a Little 5-Points stall and the World Deer Convention, a man from Eastern-Europe standing near his stall began telling stories about a place called Chernarus. He overheard tales throughout the day of massive wolves and buck living in the foothills and the beautiful weather across the country, which piqued Colby's interest. Large wolves were hard to find and hunt, due to the endangered nature of many of the North American species and Colby wasn't the type to hunt a vulnerable species, especially illegally. Though, these wolves had reached a point of overwhelming number in Chernarus to a degree that there were bounties in some area for pelts... After the convention, he drove Bucky and John to the nearest bar where they grabbed a few beers to relax, there he brought up his new idea: Two weeks in Chernarus where they could take camera equipment and document their adventure, take some prototypes out and field-test them. They could write some reviews for the R&D team and get a great vacation out of it on the company's dime.
A week later they loaded up their guns, grabbed their new hunting equipment, and hopped on a plane headed east. They had spent seven days off of the grid by the time they decided to head back into town for supplies, which mostly meant beer. Of course many things had changed in this week. To find out what happened when they entered Myshkino, you'll have to ask...
People who posture and brag
People who talk with their gun before their mouth
Those who have no respect for nature.
Nuts (Almonds, Cashews, etc..)
Kind and giving folk
Fishing is his favorite
Has a hard time staying serious
Reacts poorly to force
Feels overly-responsible for his friends well-being.
