Deployed to Eastern Europe to aid Ukrainian troops in the fight against the Russian backed separatists he became well versed in recon operations. After spending a year in combat he had proved himself as a Marine and was accepted into MARSOC where he would continue training on recon and how to establish peace more effectively in regions where a traditional military force was deemed provoking. As such he became the perfect cadet for a task force being sent to Chenarous to teach locals how to defend themselves against and launch counterattack during the civil war. After the civil war, he would once again be sent back to the region only weeks before the outbreak began to check on the progress of the country's now rebuilding military. After a few weeks in the country after the outbreak he would finally get through to a US Air-force PJ crew that would be passing through the county as part of their evac route from Takistan. Upon the news of the evac helicopter he would begin to fight his way out to a suitable evac point atop a Cherno apartment high rise. Using his last signal flare he waved in his ride and hoped aboard to what he believed was the end of his nightmares . However his victory would be short lived with his helicopter loosing control and crashing after the tail boom was cut free from the aircraft due to a rebel RPG fired from the deeply wooded forests. As he lay in the smoldering wreckage of his hope he flashed in and out of consciousness with an occasional glimpse of a shadowy figure pulling him from the crash. From hense on he and his newfound friend Shaw would wonder the remains of south zagoria with there only mission being to survive by all costs.
