Alex was born in Brazil in the 80's. He lived most of his life in southern Brazil and when he turned 25, he decided to travel to England and get to know the world. He studied to become a pilot and obtained his license a few years later when he was 28. At the age of 30, he started working for a small private company at Shoreham Airport. One day, a new contract came up to transport business people across Europe and he was very happy with that. His dream was finally coming true. A few months later his life was very hectic, travelling to different countries all the time, meeting different places and seeing different things. Between his travels, Alex used to play football with his friends, go out at night to have fun and try his luck at a roulette table at any casino he found open at 3 in the morning. But his luck and good life were about to change. Abruptly.
A new virus has been discovered in Africa. For a few months no one knew exactly what it was. Some experts said it could be a new type of Ebola, some said not to worry, soon they would have a cure. Months passed and suddenly it was in the news around the world, literally everywhere. Everyone was talking about this new disease that was spreading rapidly across Africa and some people started reporting cases outside the African continent. Alex kept up the news every day, hoping to know that a cure had been found. But nothing changed, everything just got worse.
Amid all the chaos that was unfolding around the world, Alex was asked by his company to take a small group of English businessmen to the Czech Republic in a region called Chernarus. He had never heard of this place, but he accepted the contract and flew to the area. Before landing, he noticed that something down there was wrong and something very serious was happening. From the air, he saw several military trucks around the airport. Some outbreaks of fire by the region also caught his eye. At the exit in the airport, a group of military men supervised the arrival and departure of people. Alex tried to talk to a soldier to ask what was happening and the only thing he understood from the soldier's precarious english was "the virus." His concern increased in time. If that place was taken by this virus, it could get stuck there. Maybe forever.
The next morning the situation got worse and it reached the limit. People began to attack others on the streets and riots broke out across the city. People just went crazy and chaos took over. The virus had arrived. In a desperate attempt to flee from that place, Alex went to the coast to try to find some boat that was leaving, but it was too late. People who contracted the virus became zombies and attacked anything that moved. There was nobody alive in the coast to help him. Afraid and not knowing exactly what to do, Alex tried to return to the North West Airfield where he had arrived, but to no avail. The army had lost control of the situation and now it was each for himself, God for all. His worst nightmare had come true and now he was trapped in that place. And now there was only one thing that he could do: stay alive and try to survive.
